Personal Coaching

Structured coaching for clearer behaviour, stronger direction, and better response when life asks more of you.

Personal Coaching is a four-session STOP Fearing Fear® programme for people who are functioning, but know they are not functioning as clearly, strongly, or deliberately as they could be.

It is not therapy, motivational coaching, or vague wellbeing support. It is practical behavioural education that helps you understand repeated behaviour patterns, recognise fear earlier, and take clearer action when faced with challenge, adversity, responsibility, or change.

What Personal Coaching gives you

This is a four-session online coaching programme designed to help you:

  • understand how recurring behavioural patterns affect your decisions, confidence, and direction.

  • It helps you understand how fear, responsibility, uncertainty, expectation, emotional load, and repeated behaviour cycles may be affecting your thoughts, feelings, actions, decisions, outcomes, and confidence.

  • The focus is not endless discussion. The focus is recognition, action, outcome, and feedback.

  • You learn to recognise what is happening earlier, understand the pattern more clearly, and respond more deliberately before stress, avoidance, overwhelm, or frustration become embedded.

Who Personal Coaching is for.

Personal Coaching is for people who are functioning, but want to function better.

It may be suitable if you are dealing with overthinking, avoidance, indecision, frustration, low confidence, difficult transitions, emotional overload, repeated patterns, poor boundaries, loss of direction, or a sense that you keep responding in ways that do not create the outcome you want.

It is especially suitable for people who do not necessarily want therapy, but do want structure, challenge, clearer understanding, and a practical route forward.

When behaviour starts working against you.

Most people do not struggle because they are weak, broken, or incapable. They struggle because they get caught in repeated behaviour cycles they do not fully understand.

You may know you are avoiding something, reacting badly, withdrawing, pushing too hard, losing focus, overthinking, or making decisions that do not help you. But knowing that something is happening is not the same as understanding the process underneath it.

Personal Coaching helps you move beyond vague self-awareness and into practical behavioural understanding.

A practical way to understand what is happening.

In Personal Coaching, we look at the full Behaviour Cycle, not just thoughts and feelings on the surface.

We look at what you are perceiving as threat, how fear and interpretation are influencing your responses, what actions you are taking, what outcomes those actions are producing, and what feedback loops are being reinforced.

That gives you a clearer way to understand your own behaviour and a stronger route into change.

The work is forward-facing. It is not about endlessly analysing the past or sitting inside the problem. It is about recognising what is happening now, understanding the pattern, and taking more deliberate action.

How the coaching works.

Personal Coaching is delivered as a structured four-session block.

Each session lasts approximately one hour and is usually delivered online. For local clients in Derbyshire and the Peak District, outdoor Walk and Talk coaching may also be available where suitable.

Across the four sessions, we look at your current situation, identify the behaviour patterns affecting you, introduce key parts of the STOP Fearing Fear® framework, and apply them to real decisions, actions, outcomes, and next steps.

The work is focused, practical, and designed to create movement.

The four-session structure.

Session one focuses on your current situation, the main issue you want to address, and the behaviour patterns that appear to be affecting you.

Session two looks more closely at your Behaviour Cycle, including threat perception, interpretation, feeling, action, outcome, and feedback.

Session three introduces stronger use of the STOP Fearing Fear® framework, including the Metacognitive Resilience Formula and the MetaSTOP Method®.

Session four consolidates the work, reviews what has shifted, identifies what action is still required, and helps you continue applying the framework beyond the coaching block.

What we may cover.

The exact focus depends on your situation, but Personal Coaching may include fear recognition, Behaviour Cycles, needs fulfilment, attachment management, avoidance, responsibility, repeated patterns, emotional regulation through action and decision-making when faced with challenge and adversity, the Metacognitive Resilience Formula, and the MetaSTOP Method®.

The purpose stays the same: to help you understand your behaviour more clearly and respond more effectively in real life.

Between-session work.

You may be given simple reflection or action tasks between sessions.

These are not heavy worksheets or therapeutic homework. They are practical prompts to help you notice your behaviour, test new responses, and bring useful real-world examples back into the next session.

The emphasis is on application, not theory.

Online or Walk & Talk.

Personal Coaching is usually delivered online, making it accessible, focused, and easy to fit around normal life.

For local clients, outdoor Walk & Talk coaching may also be available where suitable. Outdoor delivery is not a separate service. It is one possible format for delivering the same coaching work when movement, outdoor space, and focused conversation may support clearer thinking.

Suitability for outdoor sessions can be discussed before booking.

What makes this different?

It looks at behaviour as an entire process.

Instead of asking only what you are thinking or feeling, we look at what you are responding to, how you are interpreting it, what action you are taking, what outcome that action is producing, and whether the pattern is helping you or harming you.

That is where better recognition, better action, and stronger resilience begin.

How this differs from Personal Intervention.

Personal Intervention is usually for something current, active, and pressing. It helps you understand the loop you are in and identify the next useful action.

Personal Coaching is more developmental. It gives you four structured sessions to understand your patterns, apply the framework, build stronger behavioural awareness, and improve how you respond over time.

A simple way to separate them is this:

  • Personal Intervention helps you deal with the active loop.
  • Personal Coaching helps you build forward from there.
Format and investment

Personal Coaching is delivered as a four-session block.

Each session lasts approximately one hour.

Sessions are usually delivered online.

Outdoor Walk & Talk delivery may be available locally where suitable.

The four-session block is £350.

A free 20-minute consultation is available before booking to check suitability and clarify whether Personal Coaching is the right option.

This includes:

  • four structured one-to-one coaching sessions
  • practical tools, strategies, and behavioural techniques
  • direct guidance, not just reflective listening
  • clear action points between sessions
  • support to understand what is happening and what to do next
  • help recognising the fear-led patterns shaping your decisions
  • focused work on your real situation, not generic advice
  • continuity across the four-session programme
  • brief follow-up notes or agreed actions where appropriate
  • review of what worked, what did not, and what needs adjusting

This is not passive support. The work is designed for people who want practical direction, clearer thinking, and usable steps they can apply in real life. We do not just talk around the problem. We work out what is happening, why the pattern keeps repeating, and what can be done differently next.

What you can expect to gain.

By the end of the four-session block, you should have a clearer understanding of your own behaviour patterns, a stronger ability to recognise fear earlier, and a more practical way of responding before problems escalate or become embedded.

The aim is not perfection.

The aim is better recognition, better action, better feedback, and stronger resilience in real life.
